Chalice

Chalice corals are a diverse group of Large Polyp Stony (LPS) corals spanning several genera, primarily Echinophyllia, Oxypora, and Mycedium. They grow as flat, encrusting sheets or plating ledges and are famous for their "alien-like" neon colorations, cratered surfaces, and intense glowing eyes (individual polyps).
